If you DO NOT want me to contact you in the future with questions like

Nice Blog

Hello,

I recently found your website: http://bikerwares.blogspot.com/ by simply browsing online for other good blogs. I run my own blog Bayareakicks.com, and I am trying to link to other blogs I think my visitors might like to visit once they are done on my site.

Since my website is visited by 1,000's of blog readers daily, I am positive many of my visitors would be interested in visiting your weblog once they leave mine. I figured you wouldn't mind if I link to your site since we are not competitors, and both have similar internet viewers on our sites. Please let me know if this is OK with you? Do you think you can link back to my website Bayareakicks.com? Thanks.

Stand your ground - The Helmet Law Debate

Let me start by saying that I hope that Ben Roethlisberger is able to recover from the injuries from his motorcycle accident.  It's never good when a motorcyclist is injured.

On the other side however, all of the State Motorcycle Rights Organizations must be ready for the fallout.  The debate for helmet laws will fire up again and will set many of their efforts on their ears.

Just about every news outlet has jumped on the "We got to require helmets" bandwagon.  To the uninformed most of the arguments sound very plausible.  This could eventually result in many of the laws that in front of our state representatives being defeated and in some cases being completely reveresed in other states.

Our only defense is to work with the organizations who have fought this battle for years and make sure that we offer a sound, logical, non-emotional argument to support our right to choose.

Every state has a MRO.  Regardless if it's ABATE, Freedom of Road Riders, or whatever, contact them and find out what you can do to help.  Our only defense is our numbers.

To find your MRO you can search on any of the search engines or check the MRO Directory at Bikerwares.

The other choice is to make sure that you voice your opinion to your local newspapers when they run stories that discuss the Helmet Law debate.

Here are just a few that have been running stories related to the debate:
Roethlisberger joins a growing roster on motorcycle injury list
Motorcycle Riders Mindful of Helmet Use
Ben didn't have valid motorcycle license
Childress has no motorcycle rulesMotorcycle wreck by QB sparks debate
Safety Classes Educate Riders

Well a new year is upon us and riding season for many of us is just around the corner. It's been a pretty amazing winter here in the midwest with several days being ridable. Matter of fact just yesterday it was in the 70's. Not bad for a mid January day.

There are a few things that you need to remember if you're riding this time of year.

No Shipping Increase

Effective January 9,2006 the US Postal Service increased all of their shipping rates. According to their official press releases this is due to increasing costs of fuel and other factors that they don't have control of. For us, most of these are unwarranted justifications. For that reason, Bikerwares will not be increasing shipping costs. All orders will still be charged the same amount as they were during 2005. We are commited to providing you the best service at the most reasonable costs.
